01 · The problem
You're paying over $3,000 a year.
The summary tells you almost nothing.
Every Australian with private health insurance has had this moment. You hand over your card at the dentist, the physio, the surgeon. You hope. A bill arrives, or it doesn't. You don't know what you got back, what you missed, or whether the cover you've been paying for actually does what you thought it did.
That's not your fault. The system is built that way.
02 · The deflection
Your fund knows exactly what you're covered for.
They just don't tell you.
Every Australian health insurer is required by law to publish the full truth about every product they sell — every limit, every waiting period, every restricted service, every exclusion — to a federal regulator. That data is public. It's downloadable. It's authoritative.
The summary your fund sends you is two pages of shorthand. The full rules document buried on their website runs to dozens of pages of fine print. So the average Australian pays over $3,000 a year for a product they couldn't describe in a sentence, and finds out what it actually covers the day the bill arrives.
03 · The translation
CoverClear translates it for you.
We're not a health fund. We're not a comparison site. We earn zero commissions from any insurer in Australia.
We read the regulator's data — the same data your fund is legally required to publish every month — and we show it back to you in plain English. Every limit. Every waiting period. Every restricted service. Every word of fine print the two-page summary skips.
One question, one tool, 60 seconds: what does your policy actually do?

05 · The source
Every figure comes from the federal regulator.
The Private Health Insurance Ombudsman publishes a full dataset of every health insurance product currently open to Australians on data.gov.au, updated monthly. It's the legally mandated public record of what every fund covers.
CoverClear reads that dataset. We don't add to it. We don't interpret it. We display it back to you in a form a human being can actually use.
